Steve began playing classical piano at age 3. He picked up the drums at age 9 and trombone at age 11. Steve started playing professionally at age 12 as a drummer. He continued to learn new instruments including guitar, sax, flute, trumpet and violin. Steve played trombone briefly with the Seattle Symphony. He moved to Las Vegas working with lounge bands such as Entertainment Committee, Far East, Launi Kristopher, Sweet Louie and the Checkmates and Sidro's Armada. He opened for The Temptations, Gary Puckett, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Little Texas, Juice Newton, Marshall Tucker Band, Marty Allen, The Amazing Kreskin, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Tokens and Steve Miller. During that time, Steve worked occasionally with Gary Raffanelli in the lounges, and became reacquainted in 2003 while production was in motion for the ABBA project. Steve musically outlined the responsibilities of the Utility man position, and began touring as sound/crew man. When it was noticed the resemblance to Gary personally, the job of playing piano and Benny was put his capable hands. He now resides in Reno, Nevada.
